Still Moving!

It's been a while since I last posted. I have been meaning to every day, but I don't ever seem to have the time. We have been packing up to move. I can't even begin to describe how stressed I have been. My face has broken out. I'm eating everything I can get my hands on. I'm a nervous wreck! I'm ready to be done with whole thing.

We have filled up one storage building and had to rent another. I am not a packrat by any means, but I didn't realize how much stuff we have accumulated. You wouldn't believe how much stuff will fit in an 1800 square foot house! I have thrown lots of stuff away, and given away even more. I think I took 10 large garbage bags full of stuff to the Goodwill, and probably 5 or 6 full of trash. The garbage men cussed me, I think, when they picked up garbage on Tuesday!

Tonight we will be moving to Blue Mountain temporarily. Tomorrow we will be picking up a U-Haul and moving all of the furniture to the storage building until we move into our new house. We get to start moving in the 4th of June. We are very excited and are so ready!

The only thing that keeps me going is the beach trip we have coming up next week. It will be so great to get away and relax. The big kids had swimming lessons in April and early May to get ready. I think they are more excited than we are. I can't wait to get them down there and spend some time with them. The babies will be staying with the grandparents so we can totally focus on the big kids.

Boy, the years go by so fast. Seems like yesterday that Jack was a bitty baby in my arms. Now he's a school boy and thinks he's all grown up! Today marks the 11 month birthday for Sam and Emma. It makes me very sad to think about them turning one year old. It's time to get in party gear. I've got to figure out where I'm going to have their birthday party. I would love to have it at our new house, but I'm afraid I won't have all my unpacking done. I don't want people coming over and the house be a hot mess. Yesterday I had to take my Vespa to the dealer in Memphis. It is only 4 months old and it wouldn't crank! I was very upset to say the least. I couldn't get them to come and pick it up for less than 140 dollars, and there was no way I was about to pay that kind of money. So, my dad came over and we loaded it up in the back of his truck. I had to precious time out of my day that I should have been packing to take a road trip. Aidan and Natalie insisted on going with me, so I allowed them. They normally aren't good riders on long trips. I have to say they were good. The only complaint I had was that they became very loud on the way back. Of course if you go to Memphis, you have to go to Target, right? Well, we made a pit stop at Target. A visit that was only meant for a couple of things ended up being about 15 things at the tune of 157 dollars. Ouch! I'm sure I will soon be banned from Target by my loving husband.

Aidan and Natalie purchased some sun shades. Here they are. I must say, I though they looked mighty cute, even if they are mine!

Moving, Moving, Moving

The last couple of days have been super busy and super stressful! I had forgotten how much I hate moving! It's like a thorn in my side! But it will all be worth it in the end. Above is a picture of my new home, and to say the least, and I am super excited. We have been crowded in a small house like a bunch of sardines for the last year since Samuel and Emma came along. Having space to live in will be a breath of fresh air! I can't wait to get in there.

Basically, we will be without somewhere to live for 2 weeks. We are in the midst of packing up and moving it all into a rented storage building. Then, we will have to move again when we actually close on the new house. John's parents are graciously opening up their home to us while we are in transit. Big shout out to them. I know it will be different having a bunch of kids in their house again when they are used to it being just the two of them.

This house is a complete and total disaster are right now. Every time I look up, one of these babies has some sort of debris or paper in their mouths, or they are unpacking something that has been packed. I will be glad to get this wrapped up and get out of here!

I am off to Memphis shortly to take the Vespa to get serviced. Hope you all have a great day!

THERE'S A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING!

So, I have decided to join the rest of the world and start a blog. I feel like I need an outlet sometimes. There are things that I have to say, things I like, and things I dislike. I want to share that with all of you. I want to share the funny things my children do and say. I want to share the good things that happen to our family. Most of all, I want to have something that my kids can come back to in years to come and reminisce. So this is my first p

I guess I should share a little bit about me. I am married to John, a really great guy. Yes, we fight sometimes, but mostly have a great time together. We love to do a lot of the same things. He is very generous and thoughtful. He loves to give gifts and tries to make all holidays special. I have a stepson named Perrin. He is 13 years old now. He is a beautiful, sweet boy. Perrin has Autism. I have learned a lot about the condition through Perrin. He is very different from your average 13 year old, but he loves to laugh and he loves to play. Then we have Jackson. He is 6 years old, and is finishing kindergarten this month. Jack is a very bright child. He is loving, and he has good manners. He loves Thomas the Tank Engine and Spongebob. Aidan and Natalie are 4. They are fraternal twins, and as different as night and day. Aidan is always in motion. He runs and does not walk. He looks up to Jackson, and basically likes whatever Jack likes. Natalie is very sensitive. She tries to keep up with the boys, but it's hard. She loves her dolls and Tinkerbell. She loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She loves the beach, although she's only been once. She loves pink and all things girly. Lastly, we have Samuel and Emma. They, also, are fraternal twins. They will 1 year old on June 15th. They are also very different in looks and personality. Samuel is a big boy and tends to be quite like a "bull in a china shop." He is very sweet, loves hugs, and plays well independently. Emma is very petite and agile. She loves me like no one else. She is always watching, and notices the smallest things. She loves attention and has to have an adult in her sight at all times.

Whew, long winded, I know. That is a basic rundown on the family. There is so much more to tell about each individual person, so follow along as I blog.

I am an RN. I have been a nurse for several years now. I did cardiac care for a long time. I decided in 08 that I wanted to try my hand at labor and delivery. It was a dream of mine for some time to be in l & d, but I wanted to experience the other side first. I have to say I really love my job. Helping someone bring their newborn into the world is very joyous and satisfying to me. John works in the family business, Henderson Pest Control. Yes, they have the midgets on their TV commercials. We live in New Albany, and we love it. We recently sold our home and bought a new one in Ingomar. It actually has enough room to accomodate our LARGE family. I am very excited, but moving is proving to be very stressful for me! We have about 11 more days to move out our house, and it is very difficult with all the children. It's hard anyway, but extremely so with two infants and three other small children in the home. It's proving to be an adventure! I'm sure the next month or two will have a lot of bumps in the road as we travel the relocation road!
